Shopping Magic

Was sent a link to this spot for JC Penny. It has a wonderful idea in it and it is nicely put together. Entertaining, interesting and made me smile. Haven't been to a JC Penny yet - time to go take a look.

That's such an elegant, seamless creative spot. But I wonder how many other brands could've slapped their logo at the end. Isn't the '28 seconds of high-end entertainment followed by 2 seconds of brand logo' formula a bit tired? Do consumers really make the connection as much as we hope they do? I think the challenge with this idea is that it assumes too much in the simple association.
